Breast Enlargement Operation Review
Hannah's Story
Singer Hannah Parshad had two Top 20 hits with Soda Club. Hannah hit the charts with Take my Breath Away and Heaven is a Place on Earth and found personal happiness as a young mum. But there was one part of herself she wanted to change... she wanted a breast enlargement.
"It's something I wanted to do for a long time - it was the one thing I wanted to change about my body," said Hannah, aged 26, from Daisy Hill.
"I'm a singer and musician, and always have a lot of photographs taken, but they were forever making my boobs look bigger than they are. I'm not into glamour modelling or Page Three work, but my clothes now fit better and it gives me a bit of extra confidence. I'm entirely happy with my body now, so going through plastic surgery was well worth it."
Hannah, who used her alternative Greek surname Alethea during her time in Soda Club, said her boobs were a small D-size when she was 16, but over the years she'd gone down in size. "I was 19 and got a record deal," she said."I was on tour when I got food poisoning, I was really ill, on a drip in hospital. I lost quite a lot of weight and a lot of that came off my boobs. Once I got out of hospital, and I was eating properly again, my boobs didn't come back and I'd gone down to a small C."
"My boobs got bigger when I was pregnant, but when I had my daughter, who is three now, they dwindled. They were a B-size, but they didn't look a B, they looked smaller. It was gel bras and padded bras all the way."
In the end, Hannah decided she'd feel better with a bit more "up top" and set out to find a cosmetic surgery that she felt she connected with, one that listened to her opinion on how she wanted to look and feel. Eventually she contacted The Cosmetic Clinic at Bridgewater Hospital and went to see them for an informal chat.
The surgery's motto "Your body, your choice" struck a chord with Hannah, and she decided to book in for a breast enlargement. After discussing the options, Hannah decided to have her implants put under the muscle instead of on top, which is a fairly new procedure, she said.
"I was told straight up that it would be a little more painful after surgery, but it was the best option for the size I wanted, to get the best results"
"I was at the hospital for 9am, had surgery at 10am and it took under an hour. I was home the same day, which was fantastic, because I don't like to be away from my daughter."
"You never know what to expect with pain, but I have to say, it wasn't a terrible experience for me, there was no severe physical pain - it was just uncomfortable and it was quite difficult to sleep. For a couple of days, I laid on the couch and watched TV, but I was back working within a week."
"Now I personally can't feel I have implants, they feel natural as a part of my body."
"I'm really pleased - it isn't a massive, obvious change that looks ridiculous. My partner, Andrew McKenzie, is really chuffed. He understood that it was something I felt I wanted to do, and he has been happy to support me."
