The Procedure

Both chin and cheek implantation procedures can be performed as day surgery. They can be performed using general anesthetic with the patient asleep, or using a local anesthesia to numb the treated area while the patient remains awake.

Recovery from Chin and Cheek Implants

As anesthetic is used, there is no pain during the procedure. A certain degree of swelling and bruising is normal. Cold compresses will enhance healing and relieve discomfort. Mild discomfort is usually easily controlled with medications prescribed by your surgeon.
