Your Face Lift Consultation

Your consultation will be with one of our qualified Nurses who will explain the face lift procedure fully and discuss your expectations and the outcome you will achieve. The same Nurse stays with you every step of the way, rather than having to deal with several different people. They will arrange an appointment for you to meet with your Surgeon before your face lift who will explain which option is best for your requirements and how you can expect to look after having your face lift procedure, and will discuss the associated risks and alternatives.

The Procedure for Your Face Lift

A Face Lift is performed under general anaesthetic which means that you will be asleep throughout the procedure and will feel no pain. An overnight stay in hospital is required.

The face lift involve retracting and tightening the skin to achieve a smoother and more defined contour to your face, jawline and your neck. Skin type, your skin elasticity, individual healing and ethnicity all influence the outcome of your procedure.

Recovery from Your Face Lift

You will need to rest after your face lift procedure until the effects of the anaesthetic have passed and general painkillers can be used if needed.

You will need to make arrangements to be driven home. Before you leave, your Nurse will advise you about your healing time and will arrange a follow up appointment for you. This is usually about 2 weeks after your face lift procedure.

FAQ

Will I look different after my face lift?
Face lift procedures do not change your facial features but are restorative and are designed to rejuvenate your skin and appearance.

Will there be scarring?
You will have scars where the incisions from the face lift procedure were made. These are not normally in view and will heal and fade with time, which will vary from person to person.
Today's modified techniques of face lift may reduce the incision and therefore reduce any scarring.

Can I go back to my normal routine after my face lift?
Most people can go back to their normal routine once their Surgeon has seen them for their post operative appointment. Strenuous activities like heavy lifting and vigorous exercise should be avoided for 3 weeks. Major social engagements should be postponed for 4 weeks.
