Face Threadlift

Suitability for a thread lift can be discussed with your Surgeon and at your consultation but experience has taught us that the best outcome from a thread lift is in our patients who:

• Have droopiness of their brows, cheeks, jowls and/or neck
• Appear older than they naturally are
• Are looking for a quick, low risk procedure to achieve a more youthful appearance, without the scars, risks, recovery or expense of surgery

Your consultation will be with one of our experienced Patient Co-ordinators and cosmetic nurses who will explain the thread lift procedure fully and discuss your expectations and the outcome you will achieve. They will arrange an appointment for you to meet with your Surgeon before your thread lift procedure who will explain what option is best for your requirements and how you can expect to look after having your thread lift procedure, and will discuss the associated risks and alternatives.

A thread lift procedure is done under general anaesthetic. There is no overnight stay required and the procedure takes up to two hours. It is not intended to replace a conventional facelift but rather provide you with an innovative, non-surgical approach to looking and feeling younger. The procedure gently elevates facial contours by replacing sagging tissues to where they used to be in the patient's youth. New collagen forms around each thread to maintain the lifted effect.

You can leave a few hours after your thread lift procedure although will need to make arrangements to be driven home. In general, your skin will feel swollen and tight for a few days after the thread lift procedure and before you leave, your Nurse will advise you about after care procedures and will arrange a follow up appointment for you. This is usually about 2 weeks after your thread lift procedure.

How long will the effects of the face thread lift last?
The effects are immediate but improvements will continue to be seen over the next 3-6 months due to the collagen production stimulated by the threads. The effects continue on average to prevent further droopiness for the next 3-4 years.

Will there be scarring?
One of the benefits of the thread lift procedure is the non-invasive aspect of the thread lift treatment which means that there is no scarring and therefore a greatly reduced healing time.

Are there side effects?
Because the thread lift procedure is performed under local anaesthetic there are none of the risks associated with a general anaesthetic and in addition the technique is entirely reversible so any unwanted effects are usually easily corrected under local anaesthetic.
